This is one of those businesses that is too good to be true. From start to finish, the customer service and communication was excellent. To work with Brett Matteo and his polite and hard working crew, is to work with a bunch of professionals who know their business thoroughly. He installed a long and beautiful stone pathway from the sidewalk in front of our house to the back of the property to meet up with our original back stone patio. He suggested best materials for our project allowing us to decide which color choices and prices would be best for our budget. All along the way he was most concerned about making us happy. When the job was almost done, we mentioned that a few areas along the path needed a bit of adjusting for one reason or another. Rather than most contractors who just want to do the job, get paid, and say good bye,…. Brett listened to us and did not make us feel like we were a pain in his neck. Brett and crew removed our entrance sidewalk and porch and replaced the sidewalk with a properly graded attractive entrance that also drains water away from the house, an important consideration in the project. He upgraded the concrete porch with beautiful bluestone. In addition they also replaced the rear sidewalk and porch area with fresh concrete. Brett was a pleasure to work with and responded quickly to questions and concerns we had as we moved through the project. He is conscientious and reliable. We would definitely hire Brett again for similar projects.

I needed a parking spot set up behind my house and had the good fortune of using Matteo Services thanks to a word of mouth reference. I only had the basic idea of what I wanted but Brett was able to flesh it out with details to make it look good when all I was really thinking was the function of it. No upsell pressure or anything close to it. Brett could show you ideas that worked with a range of budgets, and came up with ways to reuse materials to help the cost of the project. They mobilized quickly and left everything clean, with Brett giving photo updates as the work progressed. Since then he has taken care of a large patio at another home and delivered a great job a second time. I will be bringing him back to project one for the other half of the house soon. CALL THIS GUY.

This is absolutely the company you should hire! Brett and his crew were professional, friendly, timely, and honest when it came to cost. They tore down and hauled away some ancient structures in our back yard and replaced them with a beautiful new slab and paver patio and sidewalk. They also put in a great fire pit area for us. Brett gave us amazing recommendations and helped us through the entire process. They were in constant communication through the entire project and they did a phenomenal job. After two landscape contractors attempted to reset my small townhome front yard area with a mess of flagstone, mortar, plants, sod and mulch, it was SO UNACCEPTABLE and time once again -- all within a few months -- to have it all REDONE by a hardscapes professional. The professional that I selected is Matteo Hardscapes / Services and they truly reconstructed the front yard into a beautiful masterpiece! Brett and Heidi Matteo with their project team members worked with me in the selection, layout, grading and proper installation of the pavestone (not flagstone this time) and the results are truly phenomenal! Matteo Services did an excellent job of creating three raised flower beds with beautiful walls of Palomino blend blocks! The walls look great and proper drainage was put in so that they will last. They also put a drainage system in place in our side yard, drawing water away from the house, so we won't have issues with water in our basement. Brett is a perfectionist and insists that his hard-working team does things up to his high standards. He is easy to work with, and his communication is great. His crew also did a fantastic job cleaning up everything when the job was done. He made our vision a reality! I highly recommend him!

We currently are booked a few weeks to a month out. The sonner you get started on planning designing and checking the availability.

We offer free initial consultations. If we come out and you have a design already we will provide you with a free written estimate for your project.
Design fees may apply to situations that require in depth design and or consulting a structural engineer.

Matteo Hardscapes provides a wide range of hardscaping services including patio installation, retaining walls, outdoor kitchens, fire pits, stone veneer, accent walls and more to enhance your indoor and outdoor living spaces.

Let me start by saying that we only use premium materials, the pavers that you may see at your local Home Depot or Lowes is not the type of product we would recommend or install with any type of warranty beyond the manufactures warranty which generally is very short.
Basically unless its an absolute necessity we don't use any materials purchased from there.
We get asked about cost quite often and to answer this question honestly I would have to know the answers to a few questions first.
The question is very difficult to answer because when you ask about cost effectiveness are you considering only spending the least possible out of pocket now?
Are you considering longevity, maintenance costs and warranty of the product?
Is this your forever home or do you plan on selling sometime in the future?
There is a lot to consider before deciding on the best option for you and don't worry , we are not looking to upsell you on a more expensive option to line our pockets. We only recover our time spent procuring and delivering (if applicable). Therefore there is no incentive for us to try to push anything that costs more just for our benefit. We make our profit on the installation itself not the materials.
From strictly an upfront standpoint
Manufactured pavers are the least expensive
Natural Stone is the most expensive
In between ther lies many brand choices and style that vary in cost from $5 per SQ. ft. to $25 per SQ. ft.
that brings us to our next question..........

Although some companies offer pricing for a project broken down to a per SQ ft number, we do not.
We believe that each project presents different challenges and situations and we do not take a one size fits all approach when it comes to pricing,
There are many unseen and often overlooked costs that we have to consider before we present you with an estimate.
Location plays a big role in pricing not only due to required travel time to and from the project loction itself.
We have to consider the distance from local dumping facilities and material suppliers and the time it will take to dispose of debris at the facility.
We also have to consider access to your project, weather or not we would need to remove a fence or barrier of some sort.
Will we damage your lawn in the process?
Will we have access to water and electric, will we need a generator to run equiptment and tools?
Will we need any special equiptment or tools for your project?
Proximity to neighbors?
Difficulty of the project and weather or not heavy equipment will have to be used?
Project timeline, are you wanting to have this completed by a certain date?
These are just a few examples of the reason we do not use the SQ ft method of pricing.
Just as we customize the project to fit your needs, we also tailor each estimate to the specific situation.
